Find My Location: If your web browser supports geolocation, you will see Find My Location under the search bar. Your browser will ask you for permission to use this feature the first time it is activated.

• GeoPortal is now an app! From your device go to add a bookmark, and click on add to home screen.
• Routing, including driving, walking, biking, and transit, is now built-in!
• Totally refactored code base for even faster performance.
• New tutorial videos are now available, including one just for Search!
• If your browser is set to a primary language other than English, a translation bar will automatically appear.
• There's a new "Custom Map Layer" in the Map Controls. Basically, it's any layer we share via our web map server, so you can see anything we hav available in GeoPortal! We're still cleaning up the layer titles and working on transparancy capabilities.
• You might notice the hash (#XXXXX) that appears in the URL bar when a property is selected. This enables your browser history, so if you select multiple records you can go forward and backward in your history. You can also email the URL when a record is selected and the recipient will automatically select the record!
• Install the Google Earth API to experience GeoPortal in 3D! After installation, an Earth option will appear in the list on top right of the map.

GeoPortal is an advanced web mapping system created by Mecklenburg County GIS. Its mission is to be an easy to use "portal" into Mecklenburg County's data and services. This site is powered by free and open source software. The source code for this site is released under the MIT free software license and can be downloaded here.
